Congratulations, on making it through the first step, thinking about seeking support!
Seeking support and therapy can be extremely challenging and overwhelming. However, you are not alone in this journey.I am Bhavya Kumar (she/her), a psychotherapist. I aim to create a space where you can explore and heal your issues from their roots.I encourage you to explore more about me and the process of therapy in my practice. As I invite you to this journey, I hope you find your safe space and comfort.
Know Me
I am a psychotherapist and currently pursuing Diploma in Transpersonal Regression Therapy from TASSO Institut, Netherlands. I have completed my MA in Applied Psychology (specialisation in clinical and counselling psychology) along with multiple certifications in different modalities and approaches. Through my practice, I aim to provide well-rounded care for individuals that will help them lead their most authentic lives.Every individual is unique and so are their struggles, concerns and issues. I believe in working with the individual at their own pace by giving them the lead to walk me through their problems. In my therapeutic space, I provide a safety cushion for clients to fall on to, that can help them fully explore and process their concerns. I achieve the same by adopting a trauma-informed and systemic lens. My practice is intersectional and queer affirmative which means I provide a safe space to your various identities such as sexual, social, political, spiritual and religious identities among others.I like to integrate different therapeutic modalities and approaches but mainly narrative and psychodynamic. This means that I help in decluttering the concerns and drawing patterns in different areas of your life by identifying different concerns and issues. These areas are broadly (but not limited to) personal self, interpersonal relationships, intimate relationships and professional life.Healing isn’t limited to counselling but expands to multiple methods and modalities to heal emotionally, physically as well as spiritually. My approaches also include using different spiritual and holistic healing methods such as using regression, systemic constellations, breath work, mindfulness, and tarot which I implement based on the needs of the client. Using an integrative approach helps me to choose what works best for the individual in their journey of mental health and well-being.Apart from my professional space, I am an artist, an avid reader and a traveller. I like to experiment with paints and cameras along with exploring anything that comes along the way.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is a word when heard often leaves people feeling confused or even at times feeling offended. But what exactly do we mean by psychotherapy? When do we seek help? When is the right time? Etc. etc. There are so many questions that go through the mind before we even begin. Pause. Take a breath. RelaxPsychotherapy is a process. In a more technical manner, it is the process of treatment of mental health concerns. This process involves an individual collaborating with a mental health professional to embark on a journey of exploration, understanding, processing and resolution of their struggles, issues and concerns. The journey is gradual with small baby steps which can also sometimes feel like a rollercoaster ride with highs and lows. But remember, you are not alone in this journey. :)
What can I seek therapy for?
The simplest answer is - Anything! Through therapy, we can address a wide variety of concerns from feeling low, demotivation, exhaustion, fears and sleep concerns to issues in relationships, loneliness, anxiety, overthinking, self-esteem issues, boundaries and so much more. It can even be used to explore certain life patterns or patterns through different generations. One doesn’t need to have a diagnosis (such as depression, generalised anxiety disorder etc.) to seek therapy. However, I do work with individuals who have been formally diagnosed with mental health concerns and provide a safe space for the same.
When is the right time to seek therapy?
Whenever you feel the time is right. A lot of times we might think “It’s not that bad, I can manage on my own”, “Things will get better with time” or even “Others are suffering more than I am”. All of these thoughts are valid, however, it is also important to note that your suffering is yours and it is as painful as someone else’s. Remember “Pain is inevitable, Suffering is optional” - Haruki Murakami.
What does taking therapy with me look like?
You’ve already taken the first step! Coming here to read and find more is where the process begins. The next step involves meeting for a free 15-20 minute phone call for a short consultation. Post the consultation we meet on a regular basis to work on more specific concerns and walk through them. The details are further explained below.I like to work on a long-term basis so that I provide well-rounded safety, support and care. I believe in working on the roots of your struggles and issues which also means taking into account different experiences and processes that might have contributed to the same; This helps in the betterment of life at large.
What will happen in the Consultation Call?
The consultation call is the initial step where we get to know each other and see if we are a good fit for each other. We will briefly discuss the issues and concerns you are struggling with and your expectation from therapy. This call WON’T be like an interview but is just an introduction to each other. This meeting will also include us discussing about the payment plans, the policies and any other formal details.
What will happen after the Consultation Call?
Post the consultation call we will have 50-60 minutes of sessions on a regular basis where we will work according to discussed goals and plan. We will revisit the goals and plans as and when necessary to track the progress you are making to optimise the process.
How many sessions will I need?
There's no number! An individual can need any number of sessions. Since therapy is a highly customised and unique process for everyone, it is not possible to predict a number. However one needs a minimum of 4 to 6 sessions to see a difference.
Are these sessions confidential?
These sessions are confidential, any information shared will remain in our space only. However, there are some limitations to this confidentiality this can be when I sense any danger towards myself or to others.I might also share certain details of our sessions with my supervisor to get a better understanding and make our sessions better. This is done anonymously and with consent.
Are you under Supervision?
Yes, I am under professional supervision. Supervision helps in getting a different perspective on an individual's therapy journey. Sometimes getting another fresh perspective makes the process better and more nuanced eventually adding to the overall experience of therapy. The details shared in supervision are 100% anonymous.
How will therapy end?
Therapy usually ends after we reach all the goals as we discuss from time to time. Although, you may wish to withdraw from therapy in between as well. The agreement and plan are not absolute and it is okay to withdraw.Although, communication from your end will be important to have a proper closure to the experience.
Do you work with international clients?
